description
NHS Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) are seeking to commission an organisation to deliver the Peer Support Element of Bolton's Parent Infant Mental Health (PIMH) Service. The Service offer will cover Bolton's resident population based on Bolton Postcodes BL1 to BL9 and will take referrals from the perinatal period until a child is 2 years old, whereby one or both parents have mild to moderate mental health needs. On some occasions, the service will work with families for longer periods of time providing the family has at least one child under school age. This may occur when additional and/or complex needs are identified. The service will not support individuals with severe mental illness and/or where a family does not have any children under the age of 5. The outcomes of the Service are: •Help parents give their children the best possible start in life
•Promote positive wellbeing for families with mild/moderate mental health issues
•Promote positive parent-infant relationships in families where one of both parents have mild to moderate mental health needs
•Empower families around early relationships and help them to realise the benefits for future mental health
•Prevent attachment issues escalating and reduce demand on specialist clinical and social care services
•Work in collaboration with statutory and voluntary sector partners in order to improve the support for parent-infant relationships
•Ensure that safeguarding is given a high priority throughout the programme and in particular that:
oSafeguarding is given a high priority in volunteer training and all volunteers must be familiar with and adhere to the Safeguarding adult's and children's safeguarding policies.
oAppropriate checks (enhanced) are carried out on volunteers as per DBS guidance
oThe work of volunteers is supervised and safeguarding is explicitly addressed in supervision.
oThe organisation work collaboratively with other agencies to ensure that local safeguarding policies are procedures are adhered to.
oEngage families with local children's centres and other community provision with the aim of promoting long term community support networks.
Organisations are asked to express their interest in delivering the Service by providing their Organisations name and Contact Details via the messaging section of EU-Supply eTendering Portal Reference 36252 by no later than 12 noon on 22nd July 2019.
