description
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is planning to implement a Digital Driving License (dDL) as outlined in the published DVLA Strategic Plan 2021-2024. The intention is to align the solution with the recently published Mobile Driving Licence (mDL) International Standards (ISO- ISO18013-5)
This initiative is still in the early stages of analysis and planning; however, we are potentially looking to advertise a contract for the joint development, implementation, and live running of a Digital Driving Licence solution, this year or early 2023.
To help to prepare for this procurement we will be hosting a supplier event at DVLA main site in Swansea, on the Monday 20th & Tuesday 21st June 2022. This event will be an opportunity for us to present the DVLA strategy along with the wider business and technical context for the Digital Driving Licence. In response, the DVLA hope to gain valuable market insight and opportunities for addressing some of our key strategic drivers and concerns.
Day 1
A presentation to all suppliers, where we will have representatives from various disciplines, to outline how we envisage the dDL working. In addition, we will provide more information and context on the DVLA technical and business systems within which any solution will need to operate. There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions and clarify our intentions with a Q&A after the presentation has finished. This event will run from 10:30am-3pm.
Day 2 (Remote)
One-to-one sessions (scheduled accordingly in advance) with all suppliers who request to take up this offer, to discuss in more detail specific aspects of each solution and explore opportunities and ideas for providing the optimum solution for our customers, both in the short and longer term. These will be 1 hour virtual sessions booked in advance, once Day 1 attendance is confirmed.
If you would like to attend this free event, please can you confirm attendance to paul.discombe@dvla.gov.uk giving the names of the representative/s attending (maximum of 3 attendees per supplier) and your company/business name.
An agenda, information pack and definitive times of the supplier day, will be issued to all attendees that confirm by the deadline date.
Please Note - only confirmed attendees will be granted access to the event
Registration closes on 23:59pm on Monday 6th June 2022
We hope that prospective suppliers will join us and help shape the future of the DVLA Digital Driving Licence.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Your Sincerely
Paul Discombe
