description
**CONTRACT AWARDED via Crown Commercial Services RM6126 Research and Insights DPS **
NS&I requires a suitable market research agency that specialises in the provision of omnibus research services.
NS&I uses omnibus services to help collect bespoke information on the general public's opinions and behaviours with regards to various issues. This information is often used to provide a lifestyle slant to publications NS&I releases (eg press releases) but also to inform business decisions. NS&I also uses omnibus services as a cost effective means of measuring levels of awareness and cut through of its various advertising activities.
NS&I requires market research agencies responding to this opportunity to be accredited members of the Market Research Society. This is so that we can be assured the agency will act in accordance with the MRS code of conduct.
The services required shall include online, telephone and face-to-face based omnibus services. NS&I has found that different questions are better suited to the different media and therefore NS&I uses different methodologies for different question sets.
Sampling needs to be robust and representative of the UK adult population. Data should be able to be broken down by a minimum of the following:

| • | region and sub-region |
(GB, Scotland, Wales, North, Midlands, South; Greater London, Humberside, etc);
| • | marital status; and |
| • | presence of children. |
On occasions NS&I will need additional breaks or analysis to be provided based on the questions run after the main tables have been delivered.
On occasions NS&I will also ask the supplier to produce research reports. If this is required, NS&I would brief the supplier on the key objectives and report requirements. The report would usually be in PowerPoint format, and would include an executive summary as well as a full breakdown of the research findings by relevant sub-groups.
The supplier will need to be able to check and sign off press releases and reports that use the data at short notice, and within a short time frame.
