description
Sizewell C is a new nuclear build based in Suffolk, in order to comply with safety legislation and Sizewell C policy fire safety consultants will be required on-site to manage fire safe governance and training. Further scope is below:
| • | Provide relevant Fire expertise including an in-depth knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order (2005), Fire related aspects of the H&S At Work Act 1974 and other relevant legislation |
| • | Provide relevant operational Fire experience including, Building Fire Strategies, Fire Risk Assessment, Fire Safety Plans & Fire Plans, Local Authority Fire Service Response and Requirements |
| • | Provide via knowledge and experience, confidence and gravitas to senior & external stakeholders |
| • | Advice and council to the Site Operations Site Lead, as the designated Person Responsible for Fire Safety at SZC |
| • | Own the Site Fire Strategy on behalf of the Client / Principal Contractor |
| • | Update / amend as appropriate as the site layout, utilities, services and people numbers change |
| Create and own relevant building / platform Fire Assessments and Plans on behalf of the Client / Principal Contractor | |
| • | Update / amend as appropriate as the site layout, utilities, services and people numbers change |
| • | For all relevant buildings / platforms, create and execute plan of visits, assurance and audits, including associated Nuclear Site Licence Condition (LC) 08 signage |
Appropriate and commensurate Site Safety adherence in accordance with the PCs requirements
| • | Sufficient project management, construction management and administration resource to ensure the delivery of the scope, on time, to quality, to budget and within the confines of the works |
| • | Reporting (TBC) regularly to Site Operations Site Lead (person Responsible for Fire Safety) |
| • | Attending (and supporting), regular and ad hoc Site Operations and Fire / Safety related meetings / workshops and visits |
| • | Supporting Site Operations with engagement with the ONR & HSE regulators via regulatory interface meetings (fire safety) |
