description

Background to the Requirement

The University is seeking to appoint a contractor to provide planned and reactive maintenance and repair to the University’s access control, security alarms, CCTV equipment and systems across both sites in Manchester and Crewe.

The scope of the contract includes comprehensive maintenance and repair service of its CCTV, access control and alarm systems in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines and industry best practice. Any updates or renewals of software licences are included within this contract.

Reactive Maintenance and Repair

Where a reactive call out is required, the University requires the contractor to be on site within 4-hours in an emergency and within 24-hours for non-emergency calls. This call out service is to be in force 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for the life of the contract.

Planned Maintenance and Repair

Alongside effective, reactive maintenance and repair, a robust, planned maintenance schedule should be in force, in order to keep all equipment and services running at optimum capacity across the estate, throughout the life of the contract. The minimum frequency of the checks differ between every 6 months, or annually, depending on the equipment’s requirements.
