description

The Virtual Reality Oracle (VRO) is a UK Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funded research project led by Professor Esther Eidinow (Classics & Ancient History, University of Bristol), in partnership with Kings College London and the University of Bath. The VRO project seeks to create a first-person virtual reality experience of oracular divination (seeking advice from the Gods) at the ancient Greek site of Dodona during the period circa 450 BCE. The VRO experience will serve primarily as an educational tool and will be used by A-level students, academic researchers and museums to inform, educate and inspire.

We seek to commission an experienced VR production company to work with our research team to recreate this important ancient site, the people who worked and visited there, and the process of divination itself.

Following competition, the University has selected Friday Sundae Studios as our preferred bidder.
