Coventry City Council are in the process of tendering a service to fulfil its statutory duty towards Young Carers, this includes:
- The identification, assessment, and support of young carers within Coventry in line with the Children's and Families Act 2014 and Every Child Matters
- The support, management, and delivery of statutory young carers assessments .
- Triage system implemented for incoming referrals to ensure that the mandatory 28- day period for an assessment is upheld and that the most urgent assessments are completed in a timely manner
- To enable the most in need young carers to have their assessed needs met as identified and agreed through the Young Carers Needs Assessment
Coventry City Council proposes to undertake a competitive tendering process during autumn 2022 in anticipation of the current contract ending in March 2023.
