description

Aldine House is a secure children's home owned and operated by Sheffield City Council and is currently home to up to twelve young people at any one time. The existing building contains a combination of bedroom, recreational, educational and staff facilities and provides two crucial services, safeguarding vulnerable children and public protection. The nature of a secure facility demands an exceptionally high level of quality, workmanship and conduct, the rules of which are detailed within these preliminaries and are to be priced for within contractors returns. The works within this project comprise the careful removal of existing doors and frames within all areas of Aldine House, and disposal from site. The Contractor will also be responsible for the supply and installation of new fire rated doors and frames including new ironmongery, fire stopping, certification and remedial works to walls in area surrounding replaced door including filling to holes, decoration and sealing around frames with anti-pick mastic. All installations are to be BMTrada certified and certificates provided for handover.
