description
Manchester City Council wishes to commission an Integrated Appraisal (IA) in order to provide a suitable framework to appraise the new Local Plan for the City of Manchester. The IA will include a Sustainability Appraisal (SA), an Equalities Impact Assessment (EqIA) and a Health Impact Assessment (HIA). The City Council is currently preparing the City of Manchester Local Plan and has already consulted on the Issues stage (spring 2020). The Council are intending to consult on a further stage (Regulation 18) that will focus on a draft Local Plan in summer 2023. The draft plan is then intended to be published for consultation (Regulation 19) at a later point in 2023, with an expected submission and examination of the plan in 2024. The draft Local Plan will need to be subject to sustainability appraisal in accordance with current planning legislation and regulations. In addition, work on EqIA and HIA is underway with colleagues within the Council that will feed into an Integrated Appraisal process for the draft Local Plan. Expressions of interest are currently sought to carry out the sustainability appraisal element of the work with appropriate linkages made to the EqIA and HIA processes.
