description
UK Sport is the government's technical lead agency for major sporting events bidding and hosting at the UK level. As the strategic leadership organisation at the heart of the major event hosting landscape UK Sport has a responsibility to be monitoring the sector, its success and challenges and providing support and guidance to the event hosting landscape.
Over the past 6 months UK Sport has increasingly heard of the challenges for the sector returning to 'normal' after the pandemic and that the new normal is very different to that of the pre-pandemic world of 2019. This is leading the team and the organisation to have a number of key questions and considerations in how it responds to protect, grow and support not only the sector but also the UK's leading event hosting reputation globally.
UK Sport is therefore looking to appoint an experienced provider to undertake a piece of strategic work - involving targeted engagement with sector partners, and utilising current and relevant data, insight and research - in order to understand the current 'State of Play' before considering a strategic response.
An initial preliminary/draft report is required by Monday 31 October 2022, followed by a mid-project review to assess remaining priorities and engagement prior to delivery of a final report by Friday 9 December 2022.
