description
Seven Sisters Market, owned by TfL, closed down in March 2020 due to the impact of Covid-19. The building was due to then be redeveloped with an outside partner however that partner has now chosen not to proceed with this redevelopment.
On 6 August 2021 LB Haringey announced that they would now be supporting the "Community Plan" which is a proposal for the market to begin operating again with the building to be run as a community space and the market itself to be self-managed by traders and the community.
To that end TfL have proposed a strategy for short and medium term provision of temporary market spaces whilst developing a long term community-led solution. A unified approach is needed to realise the opportunity for Seven Sisters in an inclusive and professional manner, particularly given the fractious nature of the relationship with traders over the past few years. To that end TfL are seeking consultancy support to establish a partnership board with traders, the community, other experts and TfL as members. The commission will also require the consultant to lead mediation between TfL and the traders. .
Services required split in to four phases. These phases will break down as follows:
-Phase 1 - Mediation between stakeholder groups
-Phase 2 - Setting up of the Management Board
-Phase 3 - Draft strategy for long leasehold (optional - tbd)
-Phase 4 - Work with partnership board to outline transitionary role (optional - tbd)
If you are interested in bidding for this opportunity please submit an expression of interest via our tendering portal (https://procontract.due-north.com/Opportunities/Index?tabName=opportunities&resetFilter=True) and you will be sent a link to download the tender once it has been issued (expected to be very soon after the EOI period has finished on 24th Sept 2021). Other than submitting an EOI no other information is required from you at this stage.

The deadline to submit an Expression of Interest is end of FRIDAY 24th SEPTEMBER 2021.
