description
Public Health England (PHE) require an update to our Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) in the Virus Reference Department (VRD) which provides virus diagnostic service to the NHS and is also a part of facilities PHE 's at Colindale, London which are designated critical national infrastructure and is required in support of VRD capability for emerging virus response.
The TEM consists of the electron microscope itself (a JEOL JEM1400) coupled to a dedicated digital camera (a Deben AMT XR60).
The required service will be the provision of a JOEL device to control the TEM with a suitable bespoke interface card to allow JOEL Transmission Electron Microscope software to communicate between the control unit display and the image source in the TEM.
As part of update PHE also require the installation of an Active Silicon AS-PHX-D36-PE1 interface card and the upgrade of the camera control software to the AMT product designed specifically to work with Deben products.
This work must be carried out by an approved JOEL and Deben supplier and the installation of any hardware, software, firmware or middleware must not invalidate the existing warranties of the JEM1400 and the ATM XR60 or infringe on any service agreements for both devices.
Please provide evidence of your organisations partnership with JOEL and Deben as part of your expression of interest to quote in this procurement and ensure Project 3653 is quoted in the email subject title.
Potential suppliers will be required to attend PHE's Colindale site to give a presentation of their solution to this requirement.
