Health Education England (HEE) is the national leadership organisation responsible for ensuring the education, training and workforce development drives the highest quality public health and patient outcome.
Health Education North East (HENE) is a committee of HEE responsible for the delivery of this responsibility within the North East and North Cumbria. One of the responsibilities of HENE is the organisation, management and quality assurance of postgraduate training to doctors and dentists in regulatory (General Medical Council or General Dental Council) approved training posts. HENE is responsible for approximately 3,000 medical and dental trainees.
HENE is seeking a provider to develop and deliver an approved and accredited 2 year Postgraduate Diploma based on the DH National Practitioner Programme; The Competence and Curriculum Framework for the Physician Assistant (Assistant is to be replaced by Associate). The course must be delivered through classroom based learning aligned to medical education and training, all students must be trained in the medical model.
The provider will be expected to engage all geographical parts of the region and ensure reasonable travel for students across the area.
This opportunity is open to all potential providers that can meet the minimum requirements set out within the specification. This opportunity is for 48 months plus 12 months plus 12 months. Please note the initial 6 - 12 months is expected to be focused on course development and not course delivery.
