description
The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead (The Authority) currently leases out part of its ground floor foyer at its library in Maidenhead to a third party café who operates in the space under a concession contract with The Authority.
This contract will be expiring in the near future and The Authority plans to go out to tender for the space that is currently occupied. The Authority is seeking expressions of interest from organisations who would be interested in utilising the space under a concession contract with The Authority. Interested organisations do not have to be café operators and the Authority welcomes interest from alternative businesses. If you are interested in this opportunity please email procurement@rbwm.gov.uk stating your interest and providing details of your organisation and what you would be proposing to do in the specified space.
Maidenhead Library is a grade 2 listed building located in the centre of Maidenhead (Postcode SL6 1QU) opposite the Town Hall. The library provides library services as well as frontline Council services to residents. The public area spreads over 2 out of its 3 floors. The space that The Authority is looking to lease is located on the ground floor foyer of the building (see attached photos for further information). It is an open space, close to both main entrances and is surrounded by glass walls with use of a small patio. The space measures at approximately 54 square metres.
Organisations would likely be able to use the designated space during the library's published opening hours. These are currently -
Monday: 9am - 7pm
Tuesday: 9am - 7pm
Wednesday: 10am - 7pm
Thursday: 9am - 7pm
Friday: 9am - 7pm
Saturday: 9am - 5pm
Sunday: 11am - 2pm
The Authority is unlikely to permit any alterations and or additions to the identified space or any other areas of the library, however use of storage, toilet and staff room facilities will likely be included in the scope.
Additional information: The Authority has attached a number of photos of the specified space for view by interested organisations.
