description
Competitions/hacks are a great and efficient way of procuring work that result in the rapid generation of solutions, leveraging significant benefits in time and/or cost. For example, one hack that Hack Partners carried out for Network Rail is estimated to have led to efficiency savings of circa £5 million. Furthermore, hacks are a great way of forming connections with SME's and organisations which wouldn't usually occur given the traditional approach of procuring work.
In support of its Innovation Strategy, Highways England (HE) would like to procure services for one hack with Hack Partners (HP); specifically, regarding HP's InfraHack initiative, a hackathon to be held in May 2019. InfraHack's mission is to bring together the best technology and infrastructure experts in the world and challenging them to build new solutions that solve the industry's critical problems, thus driving the industry forward.
