description
It is widely recognised that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is not a good measure of economic performance, putting an unhealthy focus on short-term domestic income generation, at the expense of longer-term prosperity. However, WWF has not to date formally endorsed any of the proposed approaches as alternatives to GDP.
WWF UK is seeking to appoint a consultant with suitable skills and experience to review the various approaches to moving Beyond GDP that have been proposed and review experience in the WWF network of working on alternative metrics. The chosen consultant will outline the various approaches and discuss their relative pros and cons, identify enabling factors and barriers to their uptake to inform a network discussion about our positioning on Beyond GDP metrics.
The output should provide information that WWF can then use to develop its positioning on Beyond GDP metrics and identify where WWF can best add value to this area.
