Education advisers

Education advisers will be required to analyse qualification submissions and provide DfE with advice as to whether technical and applied qualifications demonstrate the required characteristics for inclusion in performance tables, in particular advising on the appropriateness and quality of content, as well as overlap with other qualifications. Advisers must have experience of reviewing qualifications and be able to assess against the characteristics detailed in DfE’s Technical Guidance, which is currently being updated.

Education advisers may also be required to analyse Apprenticeship Trailblazer assessment plans and advise BIS/DfE whether they will give employers confidence that those completing an apprenticeship will be fully job ready.

We are looking for up to 8 Education Advisers for a maximum of 120 days who should:

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of current 14-19 education policy as well as government reforms to vocational education.

• Have strong and recent experience of completing technical reviews of qualifications, including analysis of structure, content and assessment methods.

• Produce concise, accurate and timely reviews, including evidence for the conclusions reached.

• Work remotely with attendance at meetings in London as required

Once you are registered on REDIMO2 you will also need to register your interest in education and children social care DPS.
