LGBT National Survey - Free Text Analysis

The national LGBT survey (https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/national-lgbt-survey) was an online survey hosted on gov.uk that closed on 15th October 2017. It aims to give a broad understanding of LGBT+ people's experiences of accessing and using public services in the UK, as well as any experiences of discrimination they may have faced throughout their lives. In the survey, we asked questions about people's experiences in education and in the workplace, and about their personal safety and access to healthcare. The survey will inform future government activity in this policy area.

There was an open free text response option at the end of the survey where respondents could add any comments or reflections that were not captured by the closed questions above

The aim of the project is to analyse these free text responses, and report back to the Government Equalities Office by mid-December (interim) and mid-January (final).

We require an organisation experienced in completing large-scale text analysis, ideally in the context of public consultations or surveys. The outputs should include summary of the key themes and sentiments emerging from the text, along with a sense of whether and how these vary by sexual orientation, gender identity and other demographic characteristics (e.g. age, region).
