Prior Information Notice – Branch Site Glenridding Health Centre

NHS England proposes to commission a branch site that will be varied to an existing contract. Therefore this offer will be limited to existing providers who hold a GMS or PMS contract in the Eden locality of Cumbria and has been extended for a further two weeks to include those practices whose practice boundary borders that of Glenridding Health Centre by invitation only.

The rationale for this decision reflects the commitment to secure continued provision delivered from Glenridding Health Centre whilst recognising a small patient list size may not be viable in its own right. The restriction to deliver as a branch site reflects the difficulties of managing a second site and therefore the benefit of having the main site within the same geographical locality.

This service is currently delivered as Glenridding Health Centre within the Eden locality of Cumbria.

The list size of the practice is 737 patients and the service receives patients from Glenridding and the surrounding villages, which includes parts of Penrith.

The aim of the service is to deliver essential, additional and enhanced services to registered patients from a premises located in Glenridding Health Centre.

It is envisaged that the tender documentation for this service will be available to those providers who meet criteria with a service commencement date of 07 October 2015.

The service will be paid in-line with GMS Statement of Financial Entitlements (SFEs) and the maximum expected annual contract value would be £61,158 per annum.

In addition, the practice will receive transition funding in relation to 2015/16 and 2016/17 and new patient registration payments for the first 12 months. The practice will also receive payments in relation to QOF achievement, Enhanced Services, dispensing fees and premises reimbursements, which will be reimbursed in line with NHS (General Medical Services Premises Costs) Directions 2013, although this does not include reimbursement of service charges.

Under the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 the contracting authorities will consider:

How what is proposed to be procured might improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of the relevant area. (Area is the geographic area for which the procurement is taking place)
How, in conducting the process of procurement, it might act with a view to securing the improvement.

To register your interest in providing the service or if you have any queries, please email kelly.wilson@nhs.net

Please note that this facility allows the provider to express an interest only in delivering this service.
