NHS South & Central Manchester and Trafford CCGs have awarded a contract for the provision of a Community Dermatology Service where patients with dermatological or low risk skin cancer conditions can be diagnosed and treated in the community by a range of appropriately trained and accredited clinicians.
The service should improve access to dermatology services, enabling a reduction in waiting times and improved choice for patients. It will allow GPs to refer routine and urgent patients for investigation without the need for a secondary care referral, and within a shorter timeframe.
The contract was awarded to Concordia Health Ltd, following a Part B restricted procurement process.
