Classroom Remodelling - Langstone Junior School

Portsmouth City Council is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced providers to tender for this project.

Portsmouth City Council (the Council) is seeking to procure a contract for building works.

Scope of project

The Client – Portsmouth City Council – wishes to appoint Contractors via a competitive tender process to carry out refurbishment works at Langstone Junior School, Portsmouth, PO3 6EZ

The estimated value of the works is £350,000. The target start on site date, for the successful contractor, is October 2015.

The proposed work is to reconfigure four existing classrooms to provide three classrooms on completion. Strip out works have already been completed. The works will include mechanical and electrical installations, partition works, finishes and minor works to the roof glazing and installing acoustic ceilings.

The surrounding school will be occupied during the works. Due to this it is a requirement that suppliers can demonstrate that they have experience working within this type of environment.

Where at least one references received does not demonstrate this experience you will be scored a 0 in that section and as a result your PQQ may be set aside and not scored any further.

The main headings under which work will be required are: the provision of building works.

The Council is targeting to have awarded the contract by 14 September 2015 with a subsequent commencement date of October 2015. The estimated value of the contract is £350,000.

Contract Period & Possible Extensions

The initial Contract period will be for 3 months with possibility of extending the term by a further one month to a maximum total term of four months in increments to be agreed, subject to the agreement and performance of both parties.
