WP3667 - Night Time Care Service - AWARD

This expression of interest exercise is being undertaken by Walsall Council to obtain a night time care support service for a pilot period. The service will consist of 2 Carers in a Car to provide care and support service for an initial 6 months and possible future strategy for the following service delivery:

• o2 Carers in a Car (triggered by a telecare service)
• oNight care support between 22:00 - 07:00
• o7 Days a week (inc bank hols)
• o6 Month Trial Period (14 May - 14 October 2021)
• oValue of Pilot - up to a maximum of ?20 an hour per carer for a combined total of 3276 hours

The Council are looking to engage with an experienced provider who has a CQC Good inspection rating to seek competitive rates and to deliver a night time care support service, to support with the timely hospital discharges and support with hospital avoidance, as an alternative to bed based support where someone has night-time care needs. The service would require to install 2 carers in car and a telecare service for the 6 month trial from May 21-October 2021. The telecare service will be sourced separately by the Council.

The service is to be provided to residents of the Walsall Council area or on the boarders of other neighboring Local Authority areas, as in the case of referrals registered with a Walsall GP.
