description

The purpose of this Framework is to supply the Council with Contracted Passenger Transport Services.

Halton Borough Council currently spends in the region of 1.1 million GBP per annum providing transport via contracts for Special Education, Education Mainstream, Looked After Children and Adults Services.

Transport is provided from a service users home or designated pick up point to a variety of schools and day service centres or similar, within the Halton area, but will also require transport to schools / establishments further afield to neighbouring authorities, such as Liverpool, Chester, Warrington, Manchester etc.

Many one-off bookings for schools, for trips and days out, will also be incorporated into this framework agreement. We also look after some transport requirements for school clubs, such as swimming club, library visits, and the Brindley pantomime performances. We will also procure bookings for other internal Council sections via this framework agreement. Transport is provided in many forms ranging from 5-seater saloon cars, 8-seater taxis, up to 16-seater minibuses and larger coaches / buses. It will be a requirement, on some routes, to provide a passenger assistant. All passenger assistants should be provided by the Contractor.
