GP Mental Health Diploma

NHS Central London CCG is looking to appoint a provider to deliver an advanced university diploma in primary care mental health in NW London to a cohort of 16 GPs.

This qualification should be within an advanced university diploma format and should address all of the challenges and opportunities in GP development and practice for their care of patients with mental health and emotional well-being issues. The study programme should also re-visit, examine and develop an effective range of contemporary diagnostic, assessment and therapeutic skills. This study will be further underpinned by evidenced-based knowledge to demonstrate professional accountability that is contestable, sustainable, productive and ultimately 'Fit for Purpose' (BMA 2006)

The training programme should build upon the success of the Mental Health Leadership and Advanced Clinical Diploma Programme that ran in 2015. The programme is expected to deliver within the financial year 2017-2018 and funding is £123,900, Including £48,000 GP Bursary for back filling GPs time.
