description
Provision of Supply Chain Solutions to the Ministry of Defence.
Introduction
- In the Defence and Security Industrial Strategy (DSIS) MOD outlined its commitment to invest in the development of Defence supply chains; with the aim to support a more productive and competitive UK defence sector, better able to win domestic and export work. As part of this commitment, MOD intends to scale up the support provided to Supply Chains for the 21st century (SC21) programme through part funding the central management of ADS' revised Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) programme.
- This Statement of Requirement (SoR) covers the necessity for the MOD to show an important signal of support to the ADS SCS Programme. The MOD's financial contribution would allow the programme to reach deeper, further, and potentially faster into the Defence supply chain. MOD's contribution would also allow MOD, in collaboration with the leading primes, to target improvement investments within the UK aerospace and defence supply chain.
- MOD's contribution would fund an increase in ADS resource available to support the programme. It would enable ADS to scale up activity, for example increasing their communication and outreach efforts to improve their reach into defence supply chains, thus generating greater interest in the SCS programme from defence suppliers and enable ADS to increase the support they provide to SCS/ SC21 accredited companies, for example increasing company promotion activities and export support.
The Supplier will be responsible for:
- a.Facilitation of a MOD representative to attend ADS SCS monthly programme board.
- b.Further engagement with defence sector companies through the ADS SCS programme with the aim to support a more productive and competitive UK defence sector, better able to win domestic and export work.
- c.Further development of the ADS SCS programme and engagement with sectors outside of usual domains
