NHS Brent and NHS Harrow Clinical Commissioning Groups are inviting tenders for the provision of Dermatology Services.
The intermediate Community Dermatology services will provide high quality, consultant - governed care for registered adults and children who have an acute or chronic dermatological condition that are appropriate for management within an intermediate care setting in line with agreed referral criteria.
The specific outcomes of the service are:
- To deliver rapid access and streamlined care for patients with dermatological conditions
- To treat patients at the most appropriate location
- To provide quick and efficient access, timely diagnostic tests and effective treatments for patients
- To offer patients a maximum waiting time of 4 weeks and deliver on the national 18 week referral to treatment target
- To provide advice, support and education to GPs and other appropriate Health Care Professionals in managing dermatological conditions.
- To improve the patient care pathway to deliver measurable benefits for patients including improved patient experience
- To ensure appropriate management of onward referrals to secondary care services.
- To ensure patients are seen by the right clinician at the right time
- To promote self-management strategies for patients with dermatological conditions
The CCGs anticipate awarding two separate contracts, Lot 1 will cover NHS Brent CCG, and Lot 2 will cover NHS Harrow CCG. Both contracts will be for 3 years with the option to extend for up to a further 2 years at the CCG's discretion, i.e. up to 5 years. The annual contract value for each lot is estimated at £500,000-£550,000 per annum.
