National Maritime Museum is seeking an experienced contractor to work with our in-house Exhibitions & Design team, as well as external Lighting and Graphics Designers, to fabricate and install our forthcoming special exhibition at the National Maritime Museum: The Moon.

Contractors will need to have a proven track record of: -Capacity

-Turnover of at least £1m

-Relevant experience

The Moon exhibition 3D design is by National Maritime Museum design studio, and features major loans from NASA, the Royal Astronomical Society; Science Museum; Victoria and Albert Museum; Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C.; and other significant collections in the UK and abroad.

The exhibition will be open from July 2019 to January 2020.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.The appointed contractor will be responsible for the construction and installation of the exhibition, which will involve exhibition setworks build, acrylic showcases, the construction of modular wall systems, graphic production and installation, decoration and electrical works for The Moon temporary exhibition.

When submitting your expression of interest, please submit proof that you meet the criteria as outlined below:

Company turnover - please provide audited balance sheets for the last 3 years to demonstrate the soundness of the company's financial position.

Relevant experience - Experience as principal contractor, in at least 3 contracts within the last 3 years,

each with a value upwards of approximately £125,000, that have been successfully and substantially completed and that are similar to the proposed works, preferably projects undertaken at National Museums.

Capacity - The Tenderer is required to demonstrate that it has adequate resources and capacity net of current commitments (included receipt of letters intent) and works in progress to ensure it can satisfactorily perform the contract that is the subject of this tender.
