The peer support network will be expanded from its current level with the aim of increasing breastfeeding rates (initiation and at 6-8 weeks), and give assurance on the governance for standards and safety of support for new mothers who are providing their baby with any breast milk.
The service will be delivered in children’s centres and the postnatal ward at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. Providers will be responsible for identifying potential peer supporters. Training will take place at venues arranged by the provider.
Contact with new mothers will take place initially through the Great Expectations antenatal education programme for prospective parents.

Infant Peer Support
The Request for Quotation (RFQ) document can be obtained by downloading the document attached to this advert. The RFQ document contains detailed instructions concerning the information bidders must provide. Consideration will only be given to those organisations that complete and return the RFQ by the required submission date which is 15:00hrs on 2 June 2015.
For the avoidance of doubt all submissions MUST be sent to the Authorised Officer in accordance with the detailed instructions within the RFQ document by 15.00hrs on 2 June 2015.
