The overall aim of the study is to understand how we can work better together in a place to:
- Understand the factors that enable a successful establishment of nature recovery focused partnerships, using the six pilot projects as examples;
- Understand how these partnerships interact with Defra ALBs (locally based and national team staff) in a place, and the challenges they face;
- Understand the structures and support that the ALBs can give to partnerships to help them establish effective partnerships,
- Understand how processes and structures within the three ALBs work together provide support or form barriers for nature recovery in a place and
- Identify common elements or best practice that could be replicated going forwards to benefit both ALBs and local partnerships, as well as any recurring issues to be avoided going forwards.
