Electronic Real Time Passenger Information Units at Bus Interchanges, Portsmouth

Portsmouth City Council is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced providers to tender for this project.

The scope of which will comprise of but may not be limited to the supply, installation and maintenance of electronic information display units at 6 key bus interchanges across the city. The units will be required to display the council's real time bus information feed.

The council has identified 6 key interchange sites that will be targeted as part of this project. It is envisaged that the display units will provide interchanging bus passengers with real time information about departing services from all stops within the interchange area as well as which bus stop the bus service will depart from.

The council has secured funding from the Department for Transport of approximately £300,000-£350,000 for this project which must be delivered by 31st March 2020. The funding is part of the 'Transforming Cities Fund' which aims to deliver a programme of schemes to encourage transport modal shift within the city.

The council is ideally seeking bids that meet requirements and that are below £300,000, however bids up to £350,000 will be considered where added value and/or additional functionality provides value for money.

All display units must be delivered, installed, commissioned, tested and signed off by 31st March 2020.

The initial supply contract will run until 31st March 2020. The council reserves the right to purchase additional related equipment from the successful supplier for a total period not exceeding 3 years, in accordance with regulation 32(5-6) of the Public Contracts Regulations, 2015.

The maintenance contract will run until at least 31st March 2023, extendable on a rolling basis with no fixed term, in increments to be agreed, subject to the agreement and performance of both parties.
