description
Trafford Council would like to invite providers to express their interest and bid for the provision of Short Break Service / Club for Children with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).
We are interested in proposed projects that offer a short break service for children and young people with ASC aged 5 - 18 years, split into age appropriate groups.
The duration of each group session is to be determined by the provider but considerations should be made to the following:
| • | The age of the child and capacity for attention / engagement |
| • | Providing enough time for parent / carer to benefit from the short break whilst considering travel time etc. |
| • | The activity on offer - this should be a mix of in house activities / community based activities / day trips. |
| • | Duration to be flexible dependent upon activity offered |
The short break service should be aimed at children and young people with a written diagnosis of ASC. The proposed offer should provide a timetabled, structured group activity which offers a higher staff ratio than other short break services offered in Trafford (i.e. greater than 2:5 but less than 1:1). The provider should give consideration to any reasonable adjustments that may need to be made for the CYP attending this service.
