Housing Related Support Services

Suffolk County Council will be re-procuring Housing Related Support Services across Suffolk following the outcomes of the transformation and the consultation currently being undertaken. The purpose of these services is to provide short term housing support to help vulnerable people to improve their quality of life and live, or continue to live, independently.

The transformation will re-shape services to ensure they can be accessed by people across the County when they need short term housing support and focus use of available resources in a fair and transparent way.

The aim is to transform service provision and procure a service model that will meet the following objectives;

•Services that are in line with Supporting Lives Connecting Communities (SLCC) and Making Every Intervention Count (MEIC) principles and models.

•Services that offer people as much control over the choice and delivery of services as possible, including uptake of personal budgets and direct payments, where appropriate.

•Services that deliver measurable person-centred outcomes that will be identified and monitored.

•Service costs and charges will reflect market norms.

•Services that demonstrate clear service pathways for people who need short term housing support that minimise repeat admissions, make best use of limited resources and ensure fair and transparent access to available services. •Services are provided in a fair and transparent way to people with an identified short term housing support need.

Additional Information

This notice is to indicate SCC’s intention to continue to work with providers, wider stakeholder groups and customers in receipt of housing support services to better understand current needs and future requirements, in terms of housing related support, before commencing the formal procurement process.

As part of this process, there will be a market engagement event in September 2015. The date for the event will be confirmed and circulated in July 2015.
