description
Southampton City Council and Southampton City Clinical Commissioning Group is facing a sizable challenge to improve the health and well-being of the diverse population it serves, however it also has the potential for making a real difference to prevent or delay the onset of citizens becoming ill by addressing key lifestyle risk factors (behaviours) which includes maintaining a healthy weight, stopping smoking and increasing levels of physical activity, whilst considering the brief intervention messages around promoting safe drinking and mental health.
A review of the current model of service delivery and local needs has presented an opportunity to transform how health improvement has traditionally been provided to improve health and well-being and reduce inequalities for people wanting to change the behaviours that lead to poor health.
Southampton City Council and Southampton City Clinical Commissioning Group would like to invite you to a Behaviour Change engagement event on the morning of 21st March 2016 to hear your thoughts and ideas around the best models and options to consider and develop. This event will be held in Oakley Road, SO16 4GX.
Registration will be from 9am with a 9.30am start and scheduled to finish at 1pm.
We will be looking to send out to you an agenda and further details which will follow prior to the event.
Please be aware that the venue is limited by numbers so we are initially inviting potential and current providers with a view to run a similar event shortly after. If you are interested in attending, or not, please can I request that you respond at your earliest convenience by emailing Andrew Gittins on the following email: andrew.gittins@southamptoncityccg.nhs.uk indicating your attention.
