description

Develop an NDE system that is capable of recording the position, attitude and live NDT data from NDT instruments, providing a permanent record of otherwise non-recorded output.

Investigate the feasibility of developing a 6 Degrees of Freedom (DoF) tracking module that can be attached to handheld probes in a variety of manual Non Destructive Testing methods including UT, PAUT, EC, ECA, MIA and resonance with a special focus on UT and PAUT.

The Phase 1 final system will be able to record the position, attitude and live NDT data from the NDT instrument, providing a permanent record of otherwise non-recorded data.

The work is to be undertaken in accordance with the SBRI application 59312-446159 submitted and held by Innovate UK for the Non-Destructive Evaluation programme.
