Prior Information Notice for Restorative Dental Services

NHS England Central Midlands is carrying out an Early Market Engagement (EME) exercise for the Commissioning of Advanced Restorative Services.

Central Midlands are reviewing the service provision available to patients requiring restorative treatment in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.

The service is designed to complement the work of general dental practitioners and the Community Dental Service in the management of restorative services.

The specification will focus on the Complex restorative services, and the collaboration with other specialist teams for the delivery of Cancer care, and Cleft palate services.

The Service will be led by Dental restorative consultants. One would oversee Head and neck patients and general restorative dentistry, whilst the second is for cleft, hypodontia and general restorative

The main purpose of the service is to accept referrals from general dental practices to deliver specialised service along agreed pathways.

There is a requirement to work in multi-disciplinary teams for delivery of cancer care, and be an outreach service for the cleft team who are based at Addenbrookes Of these specialist patient groups. These require the input of restorative, orthodontists and OMFS surgeons.

We wish to invite suitably qualified and experienced providers to express interest if they consider they have the facilities and ability to meet these expectations.

An expression of interest in this will not automatically entitle involvement in any future procurement exercise.

The services will be a referral service, with an estimated volume of 2,000 patients seen a year.
