The aim is to commission a high quality, evidence-based, effective, equitable and accessible service for adults with Lymphoedema, regardless of aetiology, that ensures improved patient outcomes in relation to clinical needs, quality of life, health and well-being.
The service will provide specialist intervention, treatment and support to patients with primary or secondary Lymphoedema through clinic and domiciliary services. The service will aim to:
| • | Provide robust package of care for the specific needs of patients with primary or secondary Lymphoedema |
| • | Encourage early identification, timely assessment and high quality treatment of Lymphoedema symptoms |
| • | Ensure early recognition, awareness and knowledge of Lymphoedema, its prevention and management amongst all health care staff and professionals, and relevant patient groups |
| • | Provide specialist advice and education to patients, carers and other appropriate health professionals regarding the management of Lymphoedema and associated wound management |
| • | Comply with clinical guidance and good practice |
| • | Provide advice and guidance with regards to the management and prevention of infection of Lymphoedema |
The service will be able to meet multiple needs and will offer a choice of care options including clinic appointments and domiciliary care.
