Leicestershire Rural Grass Cutting

Leicestershire County Council (the Council) is seeking to identify and appoint up to two Contractors to provide a Rural Grass cutting service.

The service is split into two Lots as follows:

• Lot 1 consisting of the Harborough district and parts of Blaby district.

• Lot 2 consisting of Hinckley & Bosworth, North West Leicestershire and Charnwood districts.

The Council will self-deliver the Melton district of the County.

The Contract will be awarded for the 2017 rural grass cutting season only with a service period between 1st March 2017 and 31st October 2017.

Tenderers can submit tenders for one or both Lots. There is no limit on the number of Lots a tenderer can be awarded.

The Employer intends to appoint one Contractor for each Lot.

The anticipated contract value is estimated at £70,000 for each Lot.

The service consists of the following elements:

• 3x Planned rural grass cuts consisting of ; 1x Visibility Grass Cut Only, 2x Single Swathe flail cut and Visibility Grass Cuts.

• The supply of; Tractor, Tractor Driver, Flail and Fuel for Engineer Instructed Day Works as required.

• Temporary Traffic Management

All plant engaged on the flail mowing operation shall be fitted with working GPS tracker devices capable of displaying real time information of the plant whereabouts. The Contractor shall arrange for an internet link so that the Employer can have access to the plant real time whereabouts.
