Cystinosis Diagnosis and Management Advice Service

NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGCSU), on behalf of NHS England (referred to as the Commissioner), is seeking to establish Cystinosis Diagnosis and Management Advice Services and are inviting interested providers to respond to this market engagement exercise.

NHS England is looking to gauge the potential market interest for providing these services and would like to hear from suitably qualified and experienced providers with the necessary capacity and capability (or a demonstrable ability to acquire the necessary capacity and capability) within the market including potential collaboration opportunities amongst providers. Following this, where there is a single provider expressing an interest in a Lot who would be able to meet the requirements, direct awards may be made. Where there are several providers within a lot, a further 'light-touch' one stage provider selection approach will be required.

In line with the service specification, services will be provided from 3 adult and 3 paediatric hubs.

The centre allocation model will be based on a regional lot breakdown as follows:

• Lot 1 - one hub for adult cystinosis services to cover the NHS England population in the North of England
• Lot 2 - one hub for adult cystinosis services to cover the NHS England population in the Midlands and northern areas of East of England
• Lot 3 - one hub for adult cystinosis services to cover the NHS England population in South of England and southern areas of East of England
• Lot 4 - one hub for paediatric cystinosis services to cover the NHS England population in the North of England
• Lot 5 - one hub for paediatric cystinosis services to cover the NHS England population in the Midlands and northern areas of East of England
• Lot 6 - one hub for paediatric cystinosis services to cover the NHS England population in the South of England and southern areas of East of England

The market engagement includes a clear outline of the service requirements along with a questionnaire for bidders to respond to, including the key requirements to ascertain the capability of providers.

The contract duration for this service will be three years plus a one-year extension.

The response deadline is 12:00 hrs midday on Tuesday 21st September 2021.
