Lewisham Council are looking to procure a Children's Weight Management Service for children and young people under/or 16 years of age. The Council seek to commission organisation/s to deliver evidence-based healthy lifestyle services for children and families and to maximise engagement with the services. The overall aim is to achieve long-term improved lifestyles for children and families.
The service will consist of the following key components:
- A specialist multidisciplinary weight management service. It is expected that this will adopt a family based approach and be delivered by a dietitian, psychologist and physical activity specialist through a bespoke programme of 1:1 and group sessions tailored to the needs of the child and their family.
- A range of targeted programmes to support children and their families through community-based interventions. This will include healthy lifestyle programmes for 0-7 years and tailored group-based programmes for 7-16 years.
- Training others through delivery of a range of bespoke training sessions, so that those working with children and families are aware of their role in promoting healthy weight.
Lewisham is seeking to commission a Single Service Provider or Lead Provider, to design and deliver accessible services that will be key components of the local weight management care pathway.
Consortiums, Partnerships and Single Service Provider are all encouraged to bid. In the case of Consortiums and Partnerships, one lead provider will need to have sole overall contractual responsibility for any members of any Consortium or Partnership
The Authority will treat this contract as a Light Touch Regime contract under Regulations 714-73 and Schedule 3 PCR 15.
