Above is short description. Detailed inforamtion.

Public Health England exists to protect and improve the nation's health and wellbeing, and reduce health inequalities. It does this through supporting local authorities to improve the public’s health by providing data, tools and guidance on evidence-based interventions. PHE is an operationally autonomous executive agency of the Department of Health.

The 2010 drug strategy called for an evidence-based, life-course approach to reducing the demand for alcohol and drugs. Young people need to be able to access high quality drug and alcohol education so they have a thorough knowledge of their effects and harms and have the skills and confidence to choose not to use drugs and alcohol.

The tender is for the provision of the alcohol and drug education and prevention information service (ADEPIS). The main deliverables included within this tender specification are to:

-Maintain and develop an online resource aimed at teachers and prevention practitioners
-Provide support to schools and prevention practitioners about substance misuse, risk taking behaviour, life-skills and resilience. This should align where possible with the provision of personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education in schools
-Establish a work programme that promotes evidence based approaches to prevention, expanding and building on the existing ADEPIS quality standards for effective alcohol and drug education
-Develop and roll out a training programme for teachers and other relevant school staff responsible for delivering alcohol and drug education and prevention
-Deliver a series of regional seminars aimed at schools and prevention practitioners
-Produce a series of alcohol and drug prevention focused briefings throughout the year on themes and topics agreed with Public Health England
-Support local authorities to review alcohol and drug education programmes and resources in their area
-Quality assess prevention programmes as part of the Centre for Analysis of Youth Transitions (CAYT) function that transferred into ADEPIS in 2015
-Develop a strategic approach for expanding ADEPIS into a range of other settings, such as youth offending services, dependant on future funding
