Project Editor Services

The Library’s Publishing department has an ongoing requirement for freelance editorial services. Typically editorial work is commissioned on a title-by-title basis, with single tasks contracted separately to specialist copy-editors, proof-readers etc. Due to a particularly busy programme for autumn 2016, the British Library now wishes to consolidate some of this work and is seeking to appoint a temporary editor for a short period of part-time in-house work to support delivery of key autumn titles.

How to Tender:

NOTE: IF YOU ARE ALREADY REGISTERED ON THE BRITISH LIBRARY'S E-TENDERING PORTAL PLEASE GO STRAIGHT TO STEP 2 BELOW. IF UNREGISTERED PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW TO REGISTER

1. Register your company on the e-tendering portal (this is only required once).

Select the ‘Login or register to participate’ link above and click the ‘Click here to register’ link on the home page.

Accept the terms and conditions and click continue,

Enter your correct business and user details,

Note the username you chose and click Save when complete,

You will shortly receive an email with your unique password.

2. Express an Interest in the tender

Login to the portal with the username/password,

Click the ITTs Open To All Suppliers link.

Click on the relevant ITT to access the content,

Click the Express Interest button in the Actions box on the left-hand side of the page, This will move the ITT into your My ITTs page.

You can now access any attachments by clicking the Settings and Buyer Attachments in the Actions box

3. Responding to the ITT

You can now choose to Reply or Reject

You can now use the Messages function to communicate with the buyer and seek any clarification, Note the deadline for completion, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the ITT, There may be a mixture of online & offline actions for you to perform

You must then publish your reply using the publish button
