GB-Bedford: Visiting Housing Related Support for Older People in the Community

The Council is seeking to enter into a contract with a suitably qualified organisation for the provision of visiting housing related support to older people in the community which: •Provides low level, support for older people, for a period of time determined by their needs;

•Is focused on meeting all of a person’s housing-related support needs and allows choice as to what they receive;

•Promotes the security and safety of clients;

•Promotes social inclusion;

•Promotes and maximises the benefits of aids, adaptations and assistive technology;

•Provides positive outcomes for clients through assisting them to sustain independent living and encouraging positive engagement with professionals and the wider community; •Supports clients to access services that can help them to maintain and sustain independence such as local interest groups, health and leisure services;

•Is designed and delivered with a focus on the service user, is outcome focussed and promotes choice and inclusion;

•Reduces individuals experience of loneliness and social isolation; and

•Promotes good safeguarding practices

The services to be procured fall within Chapter 3 (Particular Procurement Regimes), Section 7 (Social and Other Specific Services) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015 (the "Regulations") and the Council does not intend to hold itself bound by any of the Regulations save those applicable to Section 7 Services.

Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs).
