Multi-Agency Safeguarding Adults Audit

The London Borough of Hounslow is seeking an experienced safeguarding adults auditor to deliver a multi-agency audit.

The multi-agency safeguarding adults audit will focus on resident records of adult safeguarding activity, which have progressed through the system, from the following organisations:

Adult Social Care Services, LB Hounslow (ASC)

Metropolitan Police West London NHS Trust (WLNHST)

Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)

Chelsea & Westminster NHS Trust

Hounslow Richmond Community Health (HRCH)

Any other relevant agencies who have engaged with the case

The audit will specifically focus on the following areas.

• Appropriate consideration and use of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
• The appropriate use of advocacy/ representation when an adult at risk lacks capacity
• Making Safeguarding Personal and its relationship with the Mental Capacity Act 2005
• Multi-agency practice, specifically focussing on how organisations work together to manage safeguarding cases

Cases will be identified through LAS and will have had the engagement of at least two agencies.

This will be a desk-based audit using a multi-agency Safeguarding Audit Tool. The audit will, if necessary, include discussion with individual managers and staff for clarification and explanation of issues as necessary.
