description
Procurement for the provision of systematic reviews of healthcare interventions to support decision-making on commissioning policies that may direct resources for treatment according to thresholds or clinical criteria.
The purpose of the contract is to provide ten systematic reviews of healthcare evidence per year, with meta-analysis of pooled effect size where appropriate. Each review supports decision-making on a clinical commissioning policy for an area in England, and may incorporate findings on safety, effectiveness, cost-effectiveness or the impact on quality of life of a defined health condition. For example, based on evidence from a systematic review, the Authority defined a commissioning policy that biological mesh for hernia repair would be funded based on specific types of hernia and specific risk factors. This policy was adopted by healthcare commissioners.
The length of the contract is two years with the option of an extension for a third year at the sole discretion of the Authority.
The maximum value of the contract is £67,333.33 per year, or £201,999.99 over three years.
The start date of the contract is 1 April 2021.
