description
Merton Council is in the process of reviewing its Local Plan for 2020 and requires an updated Green Infrastructure, Biodiversity and Open Space Strategy to provide evidence to inform and influence the new Local Plan policies including those for open space, biodiversity and other green infrastructure. The strategy will also inform the Infrastructure Needs Assessment (INA), support the Council's health and wellbeing priorities as outlined in the Health and Wellbeing Strategy and other health and wellbeing strategies of the council, and will provide updates for the Merton Greenspaces and Leisure Team.
The Council wishes to appoint a consultant to undertake a review of all:
| - | Open space sites; |
| - | Green corridors; |
| - | Public parks; |
| - | Natural and semi-natural green spaces; |
| - | Amenity greenspace; |
| - | Allotments, cemeteries, churchyards and other burial grounds; |
| - | Indoor leisure facilities; |
| - | Playspaces and recreation space publically accessible by children and young people; |
| - | The levels of accessibility to public open space, areas of deficiency in access to open space and a biodiversity review of all Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINCs). |
