Restraint Training

County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust have a requirement for Restraint Training to be provided to identified Trust Staff including Security Staff.

The successful provider is to deliver training to an agreed amount of staff per session and within the confines of a safe training facility which must be located within Durham and/or Darlington and provided by the Training Company.

Please note that site visits to the proposed venue will be conducted as part of the evaluation process.

Currently the Trust receives four restraint training courses per month which equates to 48 training courses over a 12 month period. Each session is a minimum of 3 hours consisting of 40-60 minutes of theory and legislative information for the restraint and restrictive techniques. The remaining 2 hours are for the practical restraint training.

The provider must have at least one of the following qualifications to particpate in this process; National Federation for Personal Safety certification/membership (NFPS), Prevention Management of Violence and Aggression certificate (PMVA), General Service Association accredited (GSA).

The duration of the contract is 12 months with the option to extend for a further 2 x 12 months.
