The purpose of this research task is to undertake an independent review of processes to improve the assessment, efficiency and cost effectiveness of innovative asphalt surfacing materials and in-situ quality assurance testing of these and current materials to be used on the strategic road network. This task also continues the monitoring and development of 'Next Generation' paving materials.
