The value below is a framework or dynamic market ceiling: the maximum that could be spent across all call-offs, not the value of a single contract. Aggregate figures on this site exclude these to avoid double counting.

description

The British Library is seeking to establish a framework contract with a number of printing companies around the world who are capable of producing books to the highest quality on a call off basis under the required response times.

The supplier will receive print-ready PDFs from the Library and will deal with all aspects of subsequent production – paper, printing, binding, shipping – up to delivery of bound copies. We do not provide proofs for colour-matching and suppliers will be expected to print to standard ink densities and within typical parameters.

The framework arrangement will contain no contractual commitment on any party for the provision of any particular quantities of service, nor will it involve any commitment to purchase. The framework will be for ad-hoc tasks and will be non-exclusive. Duration of the framework is expected to be a maximum of 4 years.

The framework arrangement will be constituted in 3 Lots, as follows: Lot 1 - Mono Books; Lot 2 - Four-Colour Books required on short schedules; Lot 3 - Four-Colour Books required on less urgent schedules. A Lot summary of the requirement is attached in the PQQ Document.
