WP3445 - Operation of Walsall Outdoor Pursuits Provision

Walsall Council's current Outdoor Pursuits Service (the 'Service') operates at Sneyd Water sports Centre (at the former Sneyd High School) and the Aldridge Airport Outdoor & Environmental Education Centre. The Service is currently used by twenty-three school and community groups. The majority of the current service users are children and young adults with special needs. The Service is currently delivered by 4 x FTE staff, supported by 15 casual sessional workers.

The Council is looking for a provider to operate and maintain the Service at no cost to the Council. The Service is to be delivered in accordance with industry knowledge and good practice.

The Council will require the existing provision to be continued, but the Operator will have scope to expand and develop delivery beyond this.
