description
There is a requirement within the Technology Architecture team for access to an IT research and advisory subscription service, which will be used to provide the following benefits for DfE:
Access to Latest Research, Trends and Innovations: Up to date expert knowledge regarding the latest industry research, trends and advancements.
Unbiased Perspectives: Neutral viewpoints, helping to challenge internal assumptions and identify new opportunities.
Specialised Expertise: Deep technical product and service knowledge and experience.
Enhanced Strategic Planning: Access to frameworks and methodologies, to support and enhance coherent strategic planning.
Objective Analysis: Expertise providing objective analysis of the Department's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, leading to more balanced and informed strategic decisions.
These services do not currently exist within DfE. This introduces a risk to the DfE's ability to make high quality technology delivery, product and service decisions for the betterment of the DfE overall. To alleviate this risk this case seeks to import outside expert opinion on all aspects of operating technology in professional, mature organisations including what technologies should be employed and how technologies should be employed. The service is obtained through procurement of a licence to access a subscription service.
